Jake Sylvester
Hello! I’m Jake Sylvester, a young professional who grew up in good ol’ Ventura County, California. As a kid, I worked on creating short films with my siblings and produced classic after classic. Perhaps you’ve heard of “Jakes Pizzaria”?
More recently, I’ve worked at an ad agency, cutting videos for large clients including Honda and Farmers Insurance. It was fast-paced, challenging, and honestly pretty fun. I learned how to take feedback without flinching, hit deadlines and bring a big-brand polish to every project.
On the freelance side, I’ve edited for a range of clients—from YouTube channels to corporate training videos. In between client work, I’ve created two documentaries and a variety of short films that I’m very proud of.
I love shaping a story, whether it’s a 30-second promo or a passion project with a weird, niche vibe. Good editing makes people feel something—and that’s the part I live for.

Jake’s super sharp, creative, easygoing, and genuinely reliable. He doesn’t pretend to know things – he listens, asks smart questions, and gets it right. He’s quietly funny, jumps between post and production with ease, and somehow is able to juggle a lot without ever dropping the ball. I’ve absolutely enjoyed working with him.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with few editors as committed, technical, and talented as Jake. I absolutely plan on working with him again.
